Questions & Answers

I don't get it? What's the point of this?

Well, mostly... for fun!  Not everyone enjoys the regid-ness of pose shows, and it also allows an offical system for other types of competitions. It also allows you to compete in these competitions against everyone in the community! If you entered shows on one forum vs. another forum or website, you could compete both against those users, and against ALL of the people in the petz community entering these types of competitions. Additionally, it brings another incentives for these competitions: pose shows are for points, right? Why can't we have a system for these other poses as well?

But can't we run these kinds of competitions anyways?

Yep! And feel free to do so if you don't want to register here, of course. BUT, having a system like this will encourage more involvement for playing with petz and encourage this type of competition even more.  Typically, whenever these competitions are (seldomly) run, they are with the incentives of hexed or bred petz (which many of us already  have enough of, or might not like the specific hexed petz of that hexer), or the sake of the competition. Now, you can see where your pet ranks against other pets and have the satisfaction of saying "I got my pet to 1,000 points and retired them!"

Why can we only register 5 pets?

In order to create a system where everyone doesn't have to keep track of their own points, and a "top 10" is created, points are submitted and entered onto this website. Those submissions, however, need to be processed and typed up by someone, and if everyone could enter 50 different petz, that would take a lot time. Realistically, petz owners can only focus on so many petz at a time, too. A smaller amount of petz will allow you to focus on a few and retire those petz in addition to making the website easier to maintain.

Was this system created with inspiration from the babyz community's BCRS system?

Yes. Yes it was. Because no matter how you feel about the babyz game, the babyz community has their compeitions/pageant system SOLID. They know what they're doing.

Can I un-register or retire my pet early if I don't want to wait until they hit 500 amount of points?

*sigh* Yes, just send me an e-mail at jesspetzadict@gmail.com. BUT, keep in mind that this website, at the minimum, will be updated once a month and that you may not hear back from me immediately. Additionally, if you decide to re-register them, their point totals will return back to zero. They will not be added to the retired page (since they have not reached 500 points), but I may make an additional page for petz who were removed from the system.

How are the points tallied and kept track of? Why don't I have to keep track?

On forums, judges submit their point totals to a specific thread within the board where petz parades are hosted. Website owners submit their judged parade points via e-mail. At the end of the month, all of those points are added from those specific forum threads and e-mails and added into a spreadsheet. That spreadsheet is then made available to everyone here, so that they do not have to personally keep track of all of their points.
